In the Neapolitan Mastiff health testing can include but is not limited to: cardiac screen, thyroid screen, orthopedic exam with or without radiographs and an eye screen. In the US the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) provides uniform certification for the heart, elbow, hips and thyroid. The Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF) provides uniform certification for the eyes. PennHip provides data for hips (although it is a closed registry).
